A Word on Discipline
What is the foundation of discipline? Respect! You thought I was going to say LOVE, didn’t you? I’m just going to assume you are already an affectionate, helpful, unselfish parent. So the love you have for your child is the starting place we work forward from. (And by the way, love is the reason for disciple, not the need to CONTROL people.)
The foundation of discipline is respect. It is very unlikely that we will obey someone we do not respect, unless we live in constant fear of them and we don’t want that fearful atmosphere for our kids.
